Dehydroepiandrosterone-DHEA is a hormone produced by the body, but which can also be synthesized in the laboratory.

DHEA is the precursor of androgens and estrogens, and its levels decrease physiologically after the age of thirty and in association with some conditions, such as depression.

Sports activity slows down this decay, but does not stop permanently.

For this reason, its intake is proposed to combat aging, improve cognitive abilities in the elderly and slow the progression of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, against sexual dysfunction, infertility, depression, schizophrenia and to reduce the symptoms of menopause.

In the same way, its intake allows for better sports performance, better weight control, improved muscle growth and physical performance in general.

It is also proposed to prevent blockage of the arteries, cancer, diabetes and metabolic syndrome, to combat osteoporosis, myotonic dystrophy, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, chronic fatigue syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, muscle damage from exercise, withdrawal symptoms, rheumatoid arthritis.

Taking DHEA can reduce the effectiveness of other drugs, while its effectiveness may be limited with the intake of insulin. Its intake can only take place under strict medical supervision. T

he main side effects are acne, hair loss, stomach discomfort, high blood pressure, changes in the menstrual cycle, hirsutism and, in the case of women, deepening of the voice.

Like any drug, its intake is dangerous if taken in high doses over a long period.

There are many DHEA dietary supplements on the market, which while not as effective as the drug, still help the body. The purer the active ingredient the better the product. The recommended dose depends on weight and age, as well as on the product, which can be in ampoules, tablets or powder.

Then follow the product instructions. Always consult your doctor before starting a one-month supplementation cycle, to see the effects and then, subsequently, with the doctor's consultation, proceed with a maintenance therapy that will be established by the doctor based on the results achieved and any side effects emerged.
