Specialized presented the new Specialized Allez E5 Disc 2023 2024, as always declaring that it is the best ever made.

Specific frame for disc brakes.
Too bad the welds have taken a step back from the past and are no longer smooth.
Another aspect that didn't convince us much are the mechanical disc brakes of the "basic" version, in the end they don't brake better than an old rim brake.
However, disc brakes offer superior braking power and modulation compared to traditional rim brakes, especially in wet conditions.
This feature improves overall safety and control of the bicycle.
Even for the assemblies, more could have been done.
The Shimano Tiagra and Claris are excellent, but a top range could have been foreseen with the Shimano 105, remaining within 2000 euros or a little above.
The two proposed versions have a wide range of sizes and choice of colours.
Equally excellent is the possibility of adopting wide tires.
In practice it can be transformed into a gravel bike.
The possibility of mounting mudguards and tires is also excellent.
The choice of the full carbon fiber fork is also excellent.
The weight, just under 10kg for the entry level version, is valid, not contained, but good.
In the end, the prices are also good.
In conclusion it seems to us that the Specialized La Allez E5 Disc is designed to offer a comfortable and efficient riding experience for novice cyclists or on a budget.
It therefore hits the targets set by Specialized, albeit with its limitations, but it is an excellent and valid evolution of the previous model.
