New ROTWILD R.EX 2026 bike all the technical info you need to know

The new R.EX is a real breakthrough. ROTWILD takes progress and technology seriously. A standout feature is the DJI Avinox M1 motor, a completely new e-MTB drive system with unparalleled sensor technology, advanced communication architecture and intuitive control. ROTWILD is the first manufacturer in the world to not only integrate this motor, but also to perfectly match it with its fourth-generation IPU energy solution: a custom-designed 864 Wh battery in an ultra-light carbon casing, bringing the total weight to just 3,580 g.

Trail performance, redefined.
Born from the World Cup-proven R.EXC race bike, the new R.EX brings ROTWILD’s engineering philosophy to the trail: explosive on the climbs, unwavering on the descents. The R.EX doesn’t view trail performance as a single moment, but as an interconnected, dynamic process. Packed with technology and potential, it rewrites the rules of e-mountain biking.

Frame: Precision meets progress
The foundation of the R.EX is its updated frame with the exclusive Elevated Box Design, which combines stiffness, tire clearance and precise kinematics with optimised anti-squat and anti-rise values: it offers active control on climbs and composure on descents. The Mid-High Pivot system provides race-proven traction, while the carbon frame and Mullet wheel configuration provide versatility with 160 mm of travel up front and 150 mm in the rear.

Next-level integration
The frame also introduces the fully integrated Eightpins NGS 3.0 dropper post, with larger bushings, new wiper technology and intelligent reinforcements for smoother operation and greater durability.

Optimised handling
Tool mount: A new lower top tube mount for storing small tools or repair tools.
Adjustable Geometry: Fine-tune your ride with a new headset that lets you adjust the steering angle by ± 0.5° and the reach by ± 5 mm.

DJI Avinox M1X: Intelligent Power
DJI’s Avinox M1 is more than just another mid-drive motor, it’s the redefinition of intelligent power. With a maximum torque of 120 Nm (Boost mode) and a constant torque of 105 Nm, it delivers extreme power and precision. The secret? A high-precision multi-sensor fusion system: ten sensors constantly monitor cadence, speed, and terrain to adjust assistance in real time. The result? Unparalleled ride quality. Control is seamless via a 2" OLED touchscreen display (elegantly integrated into the top tube) and a wireless remote.
In addition to Bluetooth 5.1 and ANT+, it offers LTE connectivity for OTA updates, diagnostics and navigation. Weighing just 2,520g, the motor is lightweight, quiet, low-vibration and fully integrated into the ROTWILD design concept. No clutter, no compromises.

IPU Gen4: Power Perfected
ROTWILD is the first brand to pair the DJI M1 with their own proprietary, removable battery. The fourth-generation IPU (Integrated Power Unit). This combination sets a new standard in weight, size and performance, evolving the technological heart of their bikes. The IPU Gen4 combines cutting-edge cell technology with a carbon frame that reduces weight without sacrificing rigidity. The custom cell layout allows for an ultra-compact design, maximizing frame design freedom (including the Quick Release Push+ button). Despite its 864Wh capacity, the frame remains elegant. Three generations of ROTWILD battery innovation condensed into one. Raising the bar for power density.

Suspension meets intelligence: High-box design with mid-high pivot
The R.EX rear end is a masterpiece of engineering: stiffness that communicates, compliance that gives comfort.
The high-box design with mid-high pivot system offers optimized anti-squat/anti-rise to maintain stability when pushing or braking, 160mm/150mm of travel combined with a mullet wheel system, Poly Dynamic frame handcrafted from high modulus carbon with a specific purpose.
"We designed the R.EX rear end to dominate climbs and dominate descents even under heavy braking. The progression curve offers immediate sensitivity to small bumps, while maintaining enough bottom-out support for big impacts.
(Lutz Scheffer, Lead Designer)
