Decathlon Rockrider E-ST 100 road test review Build quality

We are at a "basic" level, but really basic, but everything works well, it is well done and also reliable.

Nothing special, for what it costs, it is very well done.

Then it's easy to do better, but with very different prices ...

Decathlon Rockrider E-ST 100 road test review Frame

The frame is the classic aluminum products, well made, not light weight, but it will last a lifetime.

Nothing to report.

The availability of sizes is normal.

Decathlon Rockrider E-ST 100 road test review Assemblies

The only version available has truly entry level components.

The list price, however, takes this aspect perfectly into account.

Decathlon Rockrider E-ST 100 road test review Comfort

Discreet, even good if you are not walking very rough paths.

You miss a rear suspension, but it's a good trekking bike.

Compared to its competitors, it is still in line, just below the best and much more expensive products of the competition.

Decathlon Rockrider E-ST 100 road test review Guide

Sure, that's what comes to mind.

Stable and easy to ride, it is not an e-bike suitable for difficult off-road, but for simple trails with a compact bottom.

The brakes can be the weak point, the bike brakes and stops in small spaces, but you need to apply a lot of force to the brake levers.

In this case there is a lack of hydraulic brakes and more expensive components.

However, it should be noted that other similarly priced products do not offer better performance.

Even the fork offers minimal functionality, a valid product for disengaged exits and certainly not for daring descents at full speed.

An excellent e bike for its price, with its limitations and its defects, but also with the merits that it costs very little and performs the same function as other much more expensive models.

In certain situations, it can be disappointing, but just take it on the paths congenial to it and it will not make you regret the purchase.

Decathlon Rockrider E-ST 100 road test review Performance

The hub motor has good thrust, even if it lacks the smoothness of operation and pedaling roundness of other competing products.

The difference is in the motor sensor which is activated based on the pedaling speed and not based on the push on the pedals.

It takes some time to understand how it works, then, once you get the hang of it, everything goes back to normal or almost.

The small battery ensures an autonomy of about 30 to 90 km.

Don't hope to stop over 50 if you use the engine often.

Overall performance is still good, don't be afraid, your teammates won't be able to leave you behind.

Decathlon Rockrider E-ST 100 road test review Pros and cons

Decathlon Rockrider E-ST 100 proves to be an excellent bike and even if there is no need to be under any illusions, it has its limits, but also its advantages, first of all the price and the negligible running costs.

You cannot expect premium mtb performance, but it is an excellent e bike for non-demanding and disengaged trekking.

In this context it performs the same functions as much more expensive e bikes.

Also excellent for urban commuting.
