With the latest update, Bosch eBike Systems improves the intelligent system and provides users with additional functions for their eBike, which can be downloaded easily via the eBike Flow app. In addition, the eBike Flow app combined with SmartphoneGrip opens up a new world of eBike experiences: the smartphone transforms into the connected control center on the handlebar and thus brings digital everyday life to the eBike.

Even before pedaling, the eBiker can decide whether to use the Kiox 300 display or whether to attach their smartphone to the handlebar using the new SmartphoneGrip. The eBike Flow app turns it into a display. Kiox 300 and SmartphoneGrip use the same support and the same interface, making it easier and more comfortable to switch between the two options. All relevant driving data (speed, battery charge status and remaining range) are displayed on the ride screen of the eBike Flow app on your smartphone. The control can be done by keeping both hands on the handlebar in a safe and intuitive way, through the LED Remote. In addition, the smartphone can also be recharged by induction or via cable while pedaling.

With the new navigation function of the eBike Flow app, the eBiker can plan the perfect route to their destination and make new discoveries along the way using the smartphone as a display. Route suggestions are coordinated with individually selectable profiles, such as “daily rides”, “leisure tours” or “eMTB trail”. The map display is also optimized for the selected route profile. In the city, for example, the 3D view of buildings facilitates orientation; During a weekend excursion, detailed information on the route concerns the altitude and the characteristics of the route. Additional notes on the map also indicate important points such as bicycle shops or charging stations.
By recording pedaling data via the eBike Flow app, after a one-time connection with komoot or Strava, it is automatically transferred to the apps. Once you reach your destination, you can share your paths and successes with your community.

At the end of a ride, the eBike can be parked more relaxed and safer: the free eBike Lock function serves as an additional theft protection compared to the mechanical lock. Once set up via the eBike Flow app, the smartphone turns into a digital key. Only when the system recognizes the associated smartphone via Bluetooth, located for example in a bag or backpack, does the motor support for pedaling be activated automatically when the eBike is switched on. This means that, in the event of theft, the pedal motor support will stop. Similar to central locking in cars, the drive unit can optionally emit a sound when the eBike Lock is activated. The status can also be easily recognized through the display and LED Remote.

There are also updates for those who want to use the Kiox 300 display again instead of the smartphone at the next pedal stroke: the status bar can be customized before pedaling to always have important data such as charge status, time or speed. In addition, when climbing hills, the screen shows whether the eBike Lock additional theft protection is activated and whether there is a connection to the smartphone.

The SmartphoneGrip is available from specialist dealers and the new features can already be activated for all eBikes with the intelligent system from Bosch eBike Systems. In the future, there will be more solutions and products for the intelligent system, for more fun, comfort and safety.
