The COMMUTE A.I.R. PRO 18 sets new standards in terms of protection for urban cyclists. The world's first cycling backpack with integrated airbag and back protector, developed to significantly reduce the risk of injury for modern city cyclists. In the event of a fall, the sensor-controlled airbag of the MINERVA AIRBAG SYSTEM inflates in less than 0.2 seconds and protects the rider's neck, shoulders, collarbones and chest, while the LITESHIELD PLUS back protector offers protection for the spine vertebral. These two technologies combined in the backpack can reduce the impact forces that occur during a fall by up to 80%. The activation and deactivation of the airbag system (developed in collaboration with MINERVA-AS GmbH) is done by closing the FIDLOCK magnetic buckle on the chest strap. Once activated, the USB rechargeable sensory system analyzes the backpack position 1,100 times per second. In the event of a fall, the airbag fires and deploys its protective capabilities in fractions of a second. Once the airbag has been activated and after careful examination for damage, it can be reused with a new inflator.
