Similar to a few days ago when Alberto Contador won on his newly designed chrome bike, Fabio Aru took the opportunity to repeat the venture and brought his new personalized white, Sardinian themed, Tarmac to cross the finish line first in Tournon.

The Astana Pro Team rider, preparing for the Tour de France, concluded the 187.50 km long stage three, in 4h 19' 54" riding at an average speed of 43.286 km/h.

"I am very happy to ride on a Specialized frame representing my region’s colors, the four moors and my logo. It is indeed a great honor for me because everyone knows how much I love my homeland. I want to thank Specialized for creating this special bike for me and I am really happy to have been able to win this stage of the Dauphine on it." he said after the stage.

The design of the bike is really simple and based on his home island of Sardinia in both color and the use of the flag. This bike was a way to pay tribute to the birthplace of Fabio and his pride for his home land.

In addition, it was possible to integrate his personal logo into the design which we hope will give him that extra bit of motivation when the races get difficult.
