Golden for 16 years of professional cycling – CeramicSpeed salutes Tom Boonen


Ending a successful career of 16 years at the highest level of the sport, Tom Boonen has set his eyes on a record-breaking fifth victory at Paris-Roubaix, a race that has truly helped establishing his status in professional cycling.

With six finishes on the podium of the iconic cobbled race, the 36-year-old has left his footprints on the top step in 2005, 2008, 2009 and 2012.

Ending his career at the race where he managed to climb onto the podium in his first year as a professional, Tom Boonen has built an impressive palmàres of far more than 100 wins. The highlights include 3 victories at the Tour of Flanders, 3 victories at Gent – Wevelgem, 5 victories at E3 Prijs Vlaanderen, 6 stage wins at the Tour de France and a gold medal at the World Championships Road Race in 2005. He also won the Bronze medal at last years World Championships Road Race in Qatar.
