Introducing the new Service Course SL-70, Service Course SL-70 Ergo, and Service Course 70 Ergo handlebars

Bicycles, and the process of bicycle fitting, have evolved tremendously in the last few decades. As brake hoods have become longer, handlebar reach has trended shorter to compensate. The days where every rider used a deep, long “Belgian-style” bar are long past.

Since their original introduction, the Zipp Service Course SL-70, Service Course SL-70 Ergo, and Service Course 70 Ergo have become the bike fitter’s go-to bar. The short reach to the hoods allows a proper fit without compromising stem length and steering control. Based on feedback from consumers, top pros and fitters, all models, both the round top and the flat top Ergo versions, have been updated with new features.

A new variable radius drop, matching the carbon SL-70 Ergo, allows for multiple hand positions when riding in the drops. This provides comfortable hand positions for riders who like to reach down to the drops, as well as for riders who reach in. The ergonomic flat top on the Service Course SL-70 Ergo and Service Course 70 Ergo now has a 3 degree backsweep for wrist comfort. And while the Service Course SL-70 has always been clip-on compatible, the new Service Course SL-70 Ergo and Service Course 70 Ergo now fit clip-ons on the 40cm and wider sizes.

The Service Course SL-70 and Service Course SL-70 Ergo are crafted from 7050 aluminum and are available in High Polish Black, which features white logos on a gloss black background, or Beyond Black, with a subtle matte black logo on the gloss black bar. The Service Course 70 Ergo is 6061 aluminum, with a Bead Blast Black finish with white logos on a matte black background.
