Best 2022  road bike which one to choose: Giant Trek Specialized

We respond to a reader who asks us for advice on these racing bikes:

"A Giant tcr pro 0 with the id2 gearbox at € 5,100 and a Giant tcr pro 1 ultegra mechanical at € 3,800, a Specialized tarmac 7 expert with id2 (€ 6500), a trek emonda 7 sl Sram group even here we exceed € 6000 ….

looking at the wallet and the reviews I would go to the tcr with the mechanical doubt or id2 .... (I don't know if it brings practical advantages) but if the Trek and the Tarmac are worth the extra money I think it's right to evaluate them, if you can be kind enough to give me an opinion on qst 4 bike I would be grateful, thank you "

The current racing bike market, and beyond, is dominated by marketing.

So first the electronic groups became necessary, then the disc brakes, then the apps, soon there will be the radar and then the abs ... in the future an electric micro motor to "save the leg on the walls" ...

This situation has led to the out of the ordinary price of racing bikes, which from a popular sport has become a luxury sport.

Among the four bikes I would personally buy the cheapest one, which goes as and better than the others, will have no electrical and electronic problems and will certainly last longer than the owner ...

If there was a rim brake version, you would buy that, still saving money and doing just as well ...

So the answer is as follows:

In the first position I would put the Giant TCR with electronic groupset, not because it gives advantages, but because if in two or four years he wants to resell it a few euros he will recover it, since even in used cars they now all want bikes with disc brakes and electronic groups.

Ultimately, then, it is a great racing bike.

If you intend to keep the bike well beyond 4 years, buy the Giant model with mechanical group, save and much over a certain number of years all bikes are worth nothing or almost ...

The Trek and the Specialized may have a little more, but these are details that pay a lot.

Ultimately it is not that the 3500 Euro bike is half of the 6500 Euro one, they are the same, perhaps a little less, but it also costs much less.

Even if there are those who swear the opposite, the four bikes she selected are much more similar than they seem, then everything else is done by marketing, the fashion of the moment ...

I think the best solution is Giant, electronic or mechanical group are the same in performance.

One of the two!
